Koestler TrustArea: England & Wales
Deadline: rolling

Koestler Arts is the UK’s leading prison arts charity. It has been awarding, exhibiting, selling, and championing art by prisoners, secure patients & immigration detainees for 60 years.

Through its arts mentoring programme, Koestler Arts identifies and supports prison leavers with talent and enthusiasm, by helping them to harness their creativity in a way which can make a positive difference to their resettlement.

It is looking for artists, creative writers, musicians, and arts industry professionals, to help support this mentoring scheme. It is particularly interested in hearing from applicants based in the North West of England.

Mentors work one-to-one with prison leavers, offering between 7 and 10 mentoring sessions over a 12-month period. Koestler Arts provide full training and support, but the role is largely an autonomous one and it is looking for mentors who can bring their own energy and expertise to the role.

Applications from people with lived experience of the criminal justice system are positively encouraged. Applications for this role are accepted on a rolling basis.
