“I have felt so privileged to be part of such a unique and special organisation and it has been an honour to work amongst some amazing people and young people alike. I really will cherish the experience I have had.” (Community volunteer, 2021)

If you're based in London and looking to spend a great time helping others develop their creativity and boosting your own wellbeing, then join the friendly group of the Theatre Troupe.

Our volunteer mentors are the life-blood of Theatre Troupe. They come from a range of different backgrounds including from the local community, those with a background in the arts or mental health. Many have lived experience of mental distress or neurodivergence/ neurodiversity.

We are always looking for keen, passionate and caring individuals who can give some time to be a volunteer mentor, working one to one with a child, offering artistic and emotional support. You don’t have to have any experience in the arts, but you do have to have a passion for them!

Because we work on principles relating to attachment theory, you must be able to commit to coming every week. We ask for a commitment of at least one term, although we are interested in hearing from people who are able to commit to longer than this. We are currently recruiting volunteers for our school and community projects in the London Borough of Southwark.

We offer a range of benefits: The chance to make a genuine difference to a child’s life The chance to become part of a close-knit friendly team Opportunities for professional development and knowledge for students and prospective students We provide training in working with vulnerable young people through the arts and in our specialist Theatre Troupe Model (TTM). We also offer refreshments, and also travel expenses where required.
