Silver Strings, Brighton & Hove’s very own later-starter community string band, has been running since early 2013 and throughout the pandemic via Zoom. So far we have introduced 200+ older people to playing stringed instruments and numbers are growing.

We meet weekly to choose, play and devise music together: we play a wide range of material including folk tunes, classical themes, and popular melodies. We perform several times per year – Brighton Bandstand and Pavilion Gardens, Brighton Museum and Art Gallery and many social events.

We invite everyone to join our FREE sessions on the first Tuesday of every month, between 9:30-11:30am, at the Brighthelm Centre, North Road, Brighton. Complete beginners are very welcome and we even provide the instruments! Booking is essential.

If you're interested in joining us and booking a free session, please contact us via our online form or via email at [email protected]. Alternatively, you can give us a call on 01273 569096. For more information, please visit our website https://musicforconnection.co.uk/silver-strings
