We are delighted to announce that Jenny Bergin is our new Freelance Project Support Worker for Creative Places, Edenderry.

As part of this role, Jenny will provide practical and administrative support to the Creative Places, Edenderry Coordinator and Creative Lives team, helping to sustain communications, outreach and engagement with local community groups and artists.

Jenny Bergin will:

• maintain a regular presence in Edenderry to answer community queries
• share project information
• and act as a point of contact for community members

Jenny said: "I’m an artist based in Edenderry. I’ve had a huge interest in art and crafting all my life and I followed this dream in 2022 and set up my own business Creative Crafts. I create bespoke art pieces and work closely with my customers for personalised pieces.

"I run the Activitea Womens Group on Tuesday mornings here in Edenderry and also facilitate numerous other workshops in both Edenderry and outside town. I love to teach different crafts and work with all age groups. One of my favourite achievements in Edenderry was working with various community groups to paint and install the shoal of handpainted wooden fish on the Canal harbour wall.

"I’ve been involved with Creative Places Edenderry for four and a half years and have met fellow artists and community groups, all working together to create safe and welcoming spaces to be creative. In my new role as Freelance Project Support Worker with Creative Places Edenderry, I look forward to continue working to establish a platform for creativity in the community for everybody to partake in and enjoy."
