An open-call photography exhibition to mark the New Year

Produced by Creative Lives, BBC Radio Norfolk and BBC Radio Suffolk

After a tough 2 years, how have we used the New Year as a fresh start?

At the start of 2022, listeners of BBC Radio Suffolk and BBC Radio Norfolk were invited to send in up to two photographs as a response to the theme ‘New Beginnings’. 170 photographs were sent in from people from right across the two counties, of ages ranging 10-80 years old, and with varying life experiences. The outcome is a digital exhibition that sends a collective message of hope from our community.

Get inspired

On the opening night, BBC Radio Norfolk producers had a chat with some of the participants in the photo exhibition. Kerry Curl (speaker) shares a bit about her journey into becoming a photographer and Lesley Wright (participant) talks us through the creative process she uses to make original photographs. Listen via BBC Sounds (from 1h18m53s).

Anyone can pick up a camera and just go get creative.
