Knit and Natter groupRena Whyte of Knit & Natter and Craft & Chatter in Forth, South Lanarkshire tells us how a 'Keep on Creating' microgrant from Creative Lives helped attending the group more comfortable for older participants, and buy some much-needed resources.

"We were delighted to learn that we had been awarded a £300 grant from Creative Lives.

Over the winter we learned that a real need for our weary bones was cushions for the chairs. To buy the materials to make them would cost more than ready-made cushions, so it was decided that we should buy and share cushions with other groups who used the hall. We don't pay for the use of the hall so this was a good means of ensuring that our grant encompassed the wider community.

Knit and Natter craft groupWe needed some resources to be on hand on the KNACC days so we bought a large cutting mat, a rotary cutter and a large ruler, dressmaking scissors, threads, and some material.

Diamond painting has been a great hit with members of the group and we bought some kits to make key rings and other knickknacks to be sold at the church sale.

We are so lucky in our wee village to have people who are willing to share their many skills. We have the use of a warm hall with comfortable chairs, and our group promotes crafts, friendships and care. Thank you for the grant."
