Area: London
Deadline: 2 June 2023

Just Us Dance Theatre is based in Redbridge in East London and has recently become an Arts Council England National Portfolio organisation (NPO) 2023 - 2026. They work in East London, across England and internationally with a particular focus in Brazil.

Led by Artistic Director Joseph Toonga and Executive Director Emily Crouch, JUDT is a sector-leading Hip Hop organisation that supports and up-skills young dancers and early career artists from backgrounds underrepresented in the mainstream. They are a catalyst for change, providing opportunities for artists and young people from Black and ethnic minority and lower socioeconomic communities, and are committed to removing geographic, economic and social barriers that prevent people from taking part in arts and culture.

JUDT is currently looking for its first Chair. This is a voluntary and unremunerated role. As Chair, you will work with fellow Trustees and the JUDT Executive team to shape the company’s strategy. The Chair alongside fellow Trustees advises, advocates, and oversees the policies and direction to support the company’s long-term wellbeing.

The Chair also line manages the Artistic Director and Executive Producer. They estimate the time required is 15-20 days per year. Board meetings are held quarterly, usually from 5-7pm, both live (at Redbridge Drama Centre or The Royal Opera House) and online.
