'A Creative Century' celebrates the many different ways we can express ourselves creativity at every age and stage of life.

We photographed and talked to ten people, one from each decade of our lives - meet our youngest participant . . .

Name: Jo Smith
Age: 9
Enjoys: Singing with Love Music Junior Choir

“I had watched the Love Music adult choir many times and thought it would be really nice if I could join – so it made me happy when they started a Junior Choir.

The first time I went it felt like a really good experience, and I thought it was going to be really fun. It’s nice to learn new songs and the director Stephen teaches all the songs in a fun way.

One of the best things is you make some really good friends and get to have fun with them. When I’m singing with all the other children, they give me confidence and I just want to sing.

Rehearsing in the Usher Hall is amazing, and then singing in front of about 2,000 people at the concert you feel a bit nervous at the start – but then at the end I feel a bit sad that it’s all over, but at the same time really proud.”
