Opportunities Creative opportunities Get involved in the National Year of Reading The National Year of Reading's 'Go All In' campaign is a bold, nationwide initiative to reignite a love of reading for pleasure across the UK. The campaign aims to reverse decades of decline in reading for pleasure, by making reading relevant, exciting, and accessible for everyone. It's about celebrating the many different ways we all read - everything from gaming narratives to novels, song lyrics to poetry, recipes to newspapers, encyclopaedias to football programmes - in digital, audio, print and graphic formats. Why is the campaign happening? Participation in reading is falling dramatically across all age groups, in particular only 1 in 3 children say they enjoy reading. However we know that reading helps us live happy, healthy, successful lives. In fact people who read regularly report that they feel less lonely, feel less stressed or anxious and sleep better. How can you get involved? Organisations of any size can pledge their support for the project in a variety of ways, from spreading the word about the National Year of Reading, to organising events, or simply starting a conversation about your favourite reads. To find out more about the campaign, and how you can get involved, visit the National Year of Reading website. You can also add your events to their What's On page, and follow the campaign on Instagram. Volunteer You could also consider volunteering in a way that helps people access and enjoy reading.
