Fraserburgh Mens ShedRalph Grantham of Fraserburgh & District Men's Shed tells us how a 'Keep on Creating' microgrant from Creative Lives helped the group to purchase equipment for its new art classes.

"Fraserburgh & District Men's Shed was delighted to have received a £300 microgrant that came at just the right time for our organisation.

We had just been offered a larger space to facilitate art classes, allowing us to accommodate more participants than before. Having a resident artist like Mary-Jane Torrance, who is well-known in Fraserburgh and beyond, is a fantastic asset for our group and has helped grow our offering.

Meeting every Friday to learn new techniques or improve existing skills is an excellent way to foster creativity and personal growth. Some members have been referred to our organisation Artwork by Fraserburgh Menby other groups, indicating the positive impact we have on the community.

It's clear that our art classes not only enhance creative abilities but also promote social interaction and well-being among the participants.

The microgrant has proven invaluable in purchasing necessary equipment such as desktop easels, enabling our members to work more comfortably and effectively.

Additionally, the grant has helped cover heating costs, which is crucial in providing a comfortable environment for your activities. Providing hot soup and beverages further adds to the welcoming atmosphere, making our meetings even more enjoyable for everyone involved."
