Run by Fleet Arts in Belper, Derbyshire, ‘Bloomin Marvellous' is an art and nature project aimed at carers and others looking to increase their wellbeing through creativity.

Partnering with three local community gardens, they run nature-based creative activities to encourage relaxation, offer an opportunity to learn new skills, and meet other people in potentially similar circumstances. They have also created craft packs for attendees to take home and enjoy with the people they care for.

“Some have children at home with complex needs, others are looking after a partner with terminal health conditions, and others are experiencing anxiety and isolation,” says Ola Wilson of Fleet Arts. “All of them say how much being in nature with other people who they can talk to and who understand, whilst having a creative activity to learn and explore, means they can relax and have some valuable space and time for themselves.

We now have a strong, core group of regular attendees who help with other new participants, making them feel comfortable and assisting with various aspects of the sessions.”
