'A Creative Century' celebrates the many different ways we can express ourselves creativity at every age and stage of life.

We photographed and talked to ten people, one from each decade of our lives - meet our second youngest participant . . .

Name: Esther Goliath
Age: 12
Enjoys: Creative writing

“I like to write adventures, fantasies and mysteries – to create a problem that needs to be solved.

"Sometimes, if there’s a problem I’m having at school or anywhere else, I take that problem and break it down and change it into something different, so it becomes how I would like it to be – and then make it into a story.

"When I’m writing I feel happy and I feel like a different person, like I’m not in this world, I’m in my own other world – and sometimes that can be good and sometimes that can be bad.

Writing is really fun, and I come up with loads of ideas. I love it when my teacher says ‘OK class, today you get to do free writing’, and I’m like, ‘Oh what shall I do? Shall I do this idea or that idea?’ My head is so full of ideas!.”
