Heritage Theatr CymruThe theatre group, Heritage Theatr Cymru, started in 2018 and is made up of ten core women members and three men, with a number of other voluntary participants involved too. All projects are funded entirely by voluntary means, and any money raised from performing their plays to a public audience is used to fund the group’s production or is donated to thematically-linked charities.

The group’s driving aim is to explore Welsh heritage in a local context, aiming for diverse membership and audiences as our themes explore female issues that are historical and also explore contemporary issues and attitudes. In 2019, Heritage Theatr Cymru developed 'Sing A Song A Sixpence' which tells the story of underprivileged women and prostitution in Merthyr Tydfil and a murder in 1908/9.
