Edinburgh Music Theatre Company, or EMT as it is more fondly known, was formed in 1982 and has gone from strength to strength to become one of the best amateur musical theatre companies in the capital.

Managed by a board of Directors we aim to stage musical theatre performances of the highest standard through commitment, dedication, hard work and talent.

Working with professional directors, choreographers and musical directors EMT has produced an incredible array of large scale musicals, as well as concert productions as part of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

We hold auditions for each new production and are always delighted to welcome new members into the EMT family.

We perform a main stage musical each year in March and perform in August as part of the Edinburgh Fringe. We have a minimum age requirement of 16, but there is no upper limit.

Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings 7–10pm at Barclay Church, Bruntsfield, and also Saturdays 10am-1pm for the main productions.
