Events & Opportunities Funding Dewar Arts Awards The Dewar Arts Awards were set up by the former Scottish Executive in 2002 as a fitting memorial to Scotland’s first First Minister, Donald Dewar. They disburse the income from a trust fund to support talented young artists in Scotland, who do not have the financial means to pursue their ambitions. To be considered for a Dewar Arts Award, an applicant must: Be under the age of 30 Live or work in Scotland Demonstrate outstanding talent in any artform Be without the financial means to achieve their full potential The Trustees look for candidates who have strong ambition and a real passion for their chosen artform. Applicants must be able to demonstrate a clear view of their future development (or that of a particular project), and how receiving a Dewar Award would help them to achieve their goals.
