Based in Edenderry, County Offaly, the Creative Places Edenderry Social Group started in March 2023 and quickly became an invaluable source of friendship, information, and creativity for local residents. Meeting weekly, the group brought people together to make friends, try a new activity, and improve their health and wellbeing. 

Each session centres on a different art or craft, connecting different members of the community in the process.

“Our weekly meeting helps and supports everyone to connect to our local community,” says Nesrin Elazaly of the Social Group. “If anyone feels lonely or socially isolated we can help them join local community groups or activities based on their interests and needs. Our group is bringing Edenderry’s diverse, multicultural community together to share their joy, happiness and friendship through art and creativity.”
