Christmas - The Story is a fantastic free Nativity Play which runs in Cardiff city centre for 3 weeks each December.

We re-tell the 2,000 year-old story in English and Welsh, using adult actors, professional staging, lighting and sound as well as amazing puppets. We also have 2 real-life donkeys outside! Each show lasts 20 minutes and every year, we give hundreds of performances to thousands of school groups, shoppers and visitors.

This is all made possible with the help of lots of volunteers from across the city and we’re always looking for more support - especially stewards and actors. Volunteering with us is very rewarding and lots of fun. We hope to bring the Nativity story back to life in town centres across the UK. Many towns across south Wales have already joined us by staging their own productions. We’d love to welcome you to see a performance of this wonderful story this Christmas.
