WHALE Arts in Edinburgh launched its new community cinema with a screening of the popular musical Bugsy Malone.

One of the volunteers, Maggie (pictured) ushered audience members into the cinema space and was on hand to show them how to do the Charleston.

Free popcorn was available for audience members, and one of the volunteers offered face painting for anyone who wanted to embrace their inner gangster or 1920s flapper.
