Creative Lives is delighted to announce a new project in Northern Ireland: ‘My Creative Life – poetry inspired by voluntary arts’.

  • What does your creative time mean to you?

  • How does being creative make you feel?

  • Has creative activity been important to you during your life?

This new project aims to celebrate the benefits of creative participation.

We are inviting people in Northern Ireland to use poetic verse to express their thoughts about being creative. This might be sketching in the garden, singing in a choir, knitting with your friends, mastering a new chord on the guitar, or writing a short story.

Based on projects developed by Creative Lives in Scotland and Wales, this new initiative will give participants the opportunity to explore and express the varied benefits that arise from taking part in creative activity, and celebrate the work of voluntary arts groups and the connection they have with place and community throughout Northern Ireland.

How to take part

If you're based in Northern Ireland and would like to contribute a poem about your creative activity, please email [email protected] with ‘My Creative Life’ in the subject line.

Or please contact us on the same email address if you have any questions.
