Love Music is seeking volunteer chaperones to join its team, looking after children who participate in its weekly Junior Choir at Edinburgh’s Usher Hall.

Love Music Junior Choir has a membership of up to 150 children aged 8-12 who come from all over the city. They are aiming to increase the size of the choir and are therefore also looking to increase the number of chaperones in our friendly and supportive team.

Chaperones are required from 3.40-5.50pm on Monday afternoons during choir terms, which run for 8 weeks each in line with school term dates. Chaperones are an essential and valued part of Junior Choir, they are the main point of contact for parents/guardians and children during the rehearsals, and play an essential role in the safeguarding and well-being of the children while in their care.

Applicants don't need experience of singing or music-making as this is a non-musical role, but they should have good verbal communication skills, good verbal English, be reliable, and enjoy working as part of a team.

Successful candidates will be subject to a Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Disclosure Scotland check and receive training. Please note applicants must be over 18 years old.

We hold interviews around 8 weeks ahead of the start of each term, which begin in January, April and September.
