Government guidance for people who work and participate in the arts in Wales.

Last updated: 15 September 2021

Important: The following guidance is subject to frequent review. It is national guidance applying to Wales, and specific areas may be subject to local restrictions.

We will endeavour to keep this information up to date, but please refer in the first instance to the national guidelines about COVID-19

Wales is currently at Alert level 0

Previous arts-specific guidance published by Welsh Government regarding the Performing Arts, Venues and the Creative Industries, all now refer to the Alert level 0: guidance for employers, businesses and organisations

At Alert Level 0, there are no legal limits on the number of people who can meet, including in private homes, public places or at events. In addition all businesses and premises may be open.

However, the Welsh Government has kept a small but significant number of legal requirements to help reduce the spread of the virus and help protect the most vulnerable. These include risk assessments of premises and activities; self-isolation following a positive COVID-19 test; self-isolation as a result of close contact (with exemptions for those who are fully vaccinated); and wearing face covering in indoor public places (with some exceptions).

Arts groups are encouraged to study the guidance closely.

Welsh Government has also published guidelines on the Safe use of multi-purpose community centres. (Last update on 6 July 2021)
