Making Music UK launch "Exploring Music Making”
They want to understand more about leisure-time music groups playing a wide variety of music in the UK.
Making Music is a registered charity, established in 1935, which supports over 3,200 member groups with access to educational resources, affordable insurance and a UK wide network of other member groups.
Making Music also influences decision makers on behalf of groups. 75% of their members make Western classical music, so this project hopes to connect with people making other genres of music.
"We realise that we don’t know enough about the wide variety of genres of music that are being played by leisure-time groups across the UK and through this project we aim to change this. We are finding out about groups’ challenges and issues and we hope that this knowledge will enable us to support and represent more people playing all sorts of music in the UK, in the future. "
