Voluntary Arts has set up a new thematic network which is about people and power in local places.

We are reflecting on how local neighbourhoods have become the spaces in which we work, live and play during lockdown and exploring how local infrastructure and self-organisation in communities can be sustained longer-term.

If small really is beautiful, what do we want to retain from the 'think global, act local' experience of 2020? What conditions are needed for leadership to thrive? Much like a daily walk in the neighbourhood, the conversation can meander in different directions but there will always be a guest speaker and time for discussion.

The next network event will take place on Monday 3 August, 9.30-10.30am. Our guest speaker will be Stephanie Sherman who will share her experiences of local leadership from the Elsewhere project in North Carolina, USA, and Radioee based in London.
