Creative Lives is seeking a part-time Place Co-ordinator to support the delivery of our place-based development programme across the UK. The successful candidate will provide project coordination, research, and administrative support to ensure the smooth delivery of research and development projects aimed at supporting and building local creative communities.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • To plan, support, and carry out place-based research and development in hyper-local areas across the UK to build local capacity for creative groups and further understand the role of everyday creativity in impacting Place.
  • Work within a team to plan and deliver relevant meetings, interviews, focus groups and networking events to effectively deliver the place work plan.
  • Carry out desk research to map local creative groups, including carrying out quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
  • Draft well written, accurate and informative reports using raw data and local findings and analysis, writing in a clear and concise manner for internal and external reports.
  • Liaise with external contacts and clients to ensure that projects stay on track and deliverables are met.
  • Work closely with and maintain two-way dialogue with Freelance Officers operating across the UK, delivering on the ground activity.
  • Liaise with internal colleagues across the place, policy and profile teams to ensure smooth project delivery and provide internal briefings to support knowledge gathering and policy-influencing opportunities.
  • Support the place-based team to meet its income generation targets by identifying suitable external consultancy work.
  • Ensure that monitoring processes for place-based projects are developed and completed and shared with the wider Creative Lives teams.
  • Support the Place Director in providing administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the team and ensuring reporting criteria are met.

Person specification:

  • Experience of accurate project coordination, including monitoring milestones and managing competing priorities.
  • Experience of carrying out both qualitative and quantitative research processes.
  • Experience working effectively with various stakeholders including internal staff, freelancers, and external partners to deliver time sensitive projects.
  • Experience of collating various information sources to produce informative and easy to understand draft reports.
  • Effective analysis of data and an ability to identify trends or patterns.
  • Experience of building and maintaining partnerships and networks, preferably with voluntary organisations, public-sector bodies and/or creative practitioners and Local Authorities.
  • Experience of organising community events, meetings, and information sessions (both face to face and digitally).
  • A high level organisational and administrative skills.
  • Excellent personal, written, and verbal presentation skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • An appreciation for the voluntary and community arts sector and the value of creative participation, particularly in tackling loneliness and in enhancing civic life and spaces.
