• Are you a creative freelancer working in and around South Wales especially Newport?
  • Would you like to build community connections and opportunities to flourish into the future?
  • Does the idea of a creative network built upon trust seem interesting to you?

Urban Circle Newport believe Storytelling and community development go hand in hand. With the support of Bectu, Cult Cymru, Equity, The Musicians Union, Writers Guild of GB, Ziba Creative, Creative Lives, Engage Cymru, Newport Fusion, Ffilm Cymru and Welsh Government, Urban Circle are building a solidarity network in preparation for new productions in 2022 and beyond.

Why this network?

The aim is to help more creative individuals to participate and help build a solidarity network. One that is wanting to learn, be open minded and radical in the way we produce creative media together. Safe, kind and representational practise is being encouraged. Where we understand the importance of mental health and wellbeing especially for creative practitioners in precarious labour situations. We can tell and listen to more authentic stories if we are willing to learn from each other.

All story tellers, world builders, creative people are invited to take part!

Do you work behind the scenes on screen/stage that want to work in teams and understand the importance of keeping doors open to the next generation of creative people? Join us if you work in:

  • Film & TV
  • Digital Media
