Awards

The Creative Lives Awards - formerly the Epic Awards - are an annual celebration of the achievements of voluntary and community-led creativity.

This year, we're looking for applications from (or nominations for) groups and projects in your community that have shown resilience and imagination during the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic. The activity must have taken place between March 2020 and March 2021, or be ongoing. 

The 2021 Awards will include the following categories:

  • Resilient Group Award

  • Local Hero Award

  • Diversity Award

  • Peer Award for Excellence

  • People’s Choice Award

The awards are open for nominations from 10 June until 31 August 2021 (11.59pm).

Step One

Read our rules and criteria [English | Cymraeg] to make sure that your group is eligible to apply.

Step Two

You can either:

  1. Fill in the online application form.
  2. Download and complete an application form [English | Cymraeg]. Send this by email to [email protected]. (Applications from Wales can be made by completing the English or Welsh language forms / Mae croeso i chi wneud eich cais yn Gymraeg neu’n Saesneg)
  3. Nominate someone else's group or project using the online application form.

Deadline for receipt of all applications and nominations is 11:59pm, Tuesday 31 August 2021.

Step Three

Wait for news of the shortlist to be unveiled after the summer. If you make it to the shortlist, join us in publicising your achievement and campaign for votes in the People’s Choice Award. Winners and runners-up will be announced alongside plans for a ceremony in due course.

  • How did it start? How was it funded?
  • What happened? Who was involved? Where did it take place?
  • What was great about your initiative from your perspective and/or that of your participants/audience?

How did your initiative support one or more of the following qualities?

  • Engagement: Who volunteered their time to make it happen? What did they do?
  • Partnership: Which other volunteers or organisations got involved? How did you all work together?
  • Innovation: Did volunteers work in a different way or try something new?
  • Creative development: How did the activity help volunteers develop their creativity?
