News & Opportunities News Voluntary Arts is now Creative Lives As we celebrated 30 years of Voluntary Arts since our formation in 1991, and reaffirmed our strong commitment to championing creativity in everyday lives, we refreshed our identity and offer to better respond to the cultural and creative sector's needs and trends. On 10 June, during an online celebratory event, our Chair David Bryan CBE and Chief Executive Robin Simpson announced our organisation's new name ('Creative Lives') and its new visual identity. The day included a series of other announcements, such as: The Creative Lives Awards (formerly Epic Awards), which will continue to spotlight the inspiring impact of creative grassroots initiatives for its 11th edition. The announcement included the open call for entries to the awards, inviting all creative groups across the UK and the Republic of Ireland to respond by 11.59pm on 31 August 2021. A new format for Creative Network conversations, which will include seasonal mini-conferences focused on key issues and topics around creative cultural activity. Creative Lives on Air (formerly Up for Arts) - a continuation of our exciting partnership with BBC Local Radio stations across the country that gives local communities and groups a voice to share their creative stories. Creative Learning - the development of a pilot programme that aims to help members of creative groups gain or improve key skills through peer-learning activities and professional advice. Creative Citizens - a new flexible consultancy package for local authorities that will be tailored to the relevant council area.
