Every two years, Creative Lives conducts a survey of the voluntary arts sector, which helps our representation to governments and funders.

If you take part in a creative group, such as a choir, brass band, knitting group, craft club, theatre group, festival, dancing club, dyeing, weaving, quilting, sculpting or painting group, or any other community-based creative activity, we want to hear from you!

Everyone who completes the survey will have the opportunity to enter into a random draw to win a John Lewis gift voucher worth £250 or the equivalent in Euros.

The world has changed in many ways since our last survey in 2020, and we’d like your help in capturing the current mood and needs of voluntary creative groups by answering this survey about your own participation in creative activities.

In 2020, we learned that despite the extreme difficulties caused by the pandemic, voluntary creative groups remained optimistic and resilient. The response to the survey demonstrated that taking part in creativity was hugely important for wellbeing and social connection, particularly during troubling times, and that the amount of time people contribute to their creative groups had increased since 2018.

We now want to understand the challenges facing creative groups after the pandemic, and how they are coping with the increased cost of living.

The survey closes on Wednesday 21 December 2022.
