Training & Support Creative Network Creative Network: Exploring Accessibility What are the barriers to accessing creative activities, and what should organisers consider to better support participants? This free online discussion will present the findings of PhD researchers Luke Whittle (University of Dundee) and Annamae Burrows (Glasgow Caledonian University), who have recently completed research internships in collaboration with Creative Lives. Their research focused on creative activity across Dundee and Glasgow, specifically exploring how grassroots community creative groups and arts-based charities support and address the needs of disabled people and individuals with mental health difficulties. The session will highlight the barriers people encounter when accessing creative spaces, along with the challenges faced by group leaders and organisers. We'll discuss the social and emotional benefits of engaging in creative activities, and share recommendations for improving accessibility. Part of Creative Network, a series of free online discussions on a range of topics which intersect with everyday creativity, led by Creative Lives. The sessions bring people together to learn from, share with, and inspire each other, with expert insight from guest speakers.
