Kinghorn Library is a community-run service. Fife Council withdrew funding in early 2017 and since then it has been run entirely by volunteers.

We're very happy to be able to continue offering a Library service to our community but it takes a lot of work! There is a pool of people who staff the desk during opening hours (eight shifts run during the week, one of which is an evening) but we are always open to new volunteers in this area as we aim to have three people on duty on a rotational basis.

The only requirements are that you should be over 16, and be happy to offer a welcoming face to the public. The amount of time you give can vary - some volunteers come in for four hours a week, others for two hours a month!

We would also welcome occasional assistance from anyone who can offer fundraising skills, IT assistance or help at events - our programme is as busy as we can make it! We are run by a committee who oversee the staffing, operations and activities.

The library is open Tuesdays/Wednesdays/Fridays/Saturday mornings at Rossland Place, Kinghorn, Fife.
