Còisir Lunnainn is not only the only Gaelic choir operating in England, but also the oldest continuing Gaelic choir anywhere in the world. We trace our history back to 1891 and the establishment of Còisir Chiùil Ghàidhlig Lunnainn, and we are making plans to celebrate our 130th anniversary in 2021 in style.

We practise every Tuesday evening at 7.30pm in the hall of Crown Court Church of Scotland near Covent Garden in central London (WC2B 5EZ). People turn up from 7pm for a pre-practice cup of tea and a blether. On the last Tuesday of each month, we end our rehearsal early and go round the corner to the pub for some more informal singing and chatting.

Many members of the choir take part in a Gaelic conversation group immediately before our rehearsals, from 6pm to 7pm at the nearby Caffè Nero on Longacre (WC2E 9NG).

We welcome all singers, regardless of their level of Gaelic or any previous musical experience. If you're interested in joining us, please send an email to [email protected] or a message via social media @coisirlunnainn.
